Day 7

Thursday
24/01/19

In the 7th session, we were waiting for our faculty in classroom 535 but later on we received a message that said the class will be conducted in the auditorium on the 7th floor, and hence, all the students moved to the auditorium.

Everyone was seated in the auditorium. The faculty was outside the auditorium talking to a few students. The faculty then called two students along with one of the volunteers who were in the auditorium, outside, to talk to them. After a few minutes, the faculty came back to the auditorium and so did the volunteer. The other two students didn't come back to the class.

The faculty called one of the volunteers and the student she volunteered to help to the front of the class. He asked them if she helped him out and whether or not he made improvement in his blog. Both of them replied to the questions put in front of them. The faculty then asked whether anyone of us remembers even one of the idioms he's used in the class. No one remembered. He used the idiom Pearl before swine in class. The faculty also talked about metaphors. Some discussion followed after. The faculty then asked the volunteer and the other student to go back to their seats. Another question the faculty had asked the class is whether a boss can ever be late or not? Some answered yes while some answered no. The faculty said that the day one feels that the boss is late, one might get fired because that feeling can be seen in one's eyes.

The faculty called forward another student who had volunteered for a task in the first session but couldn't complete it due to some of her own reasons. She came forward and apologised to the class and to the faculty saying that in the heat of the moment she might have said things that she now thinks she shouldn't have. Our faculty asked us to applaude for her as he said that she showed the courage to come forward to face the class, owned up to her mistakes, and apologized for her actions. The class applauded. The faculty then asked this volunteer whether she would like to volunteer to bring the other two students back to class who left from the class earlier in this session or not. She willingly offered to volunteer.

We then moved forward with the class. The faculty said that he was about to show us a movie. He said that if we understand what this movie is trying to convey then we'll understand what he's been trying to make us understand but if not then we never would. The faculty then gave us a five minutes break before the movie screening. After which we started watching the film. The film had to be paused at 5:30 as the class duration for the particular session got over, even though the movie didn't. The faculty took the attendance. He then asked who all would like to discuss their blogs can wait while the others could leave.

The nine of us waited while all the others left. One by one each one of us sent in our blog links in the group for easy access. He called one student to the front and started discussing his blog. The faculty asked one of us to volunteer to help this student with his blog. I volunteered to help him. And then one by one we along with the faculty read each others' blogs. The faculty discussed what improvements were to be made blog by blog. He then asked us to make the improvements and post a new blog containing his comments as well. He said to leave the previous blog as it is so that both blogs could be compared. After this discussion he read out a blog to us that he had written about his school reunion. The first time he read his blog in one single go but the second time he read it line by line and together we analysed what each line implied. At 8:30 p.m. we were dismissed and we left the auditorium .

Today's session was different as I had not read more than two or three blogs as of yet but because I waited, I read seven blogs of my fellow classmates. Also, I got feedback regarding my blog by a fellow classmate as I had mentioned an incident that concerned her in one of my blogs.

Also, as I was there when others got feedbacks about their blogs, it helped me understand the improvements that I too might require to make in my blogs. Hence, it would be beneficial for me as well when I am writing my blogs.
